Over Loaded

These are two .220 Swift casings that were loaded by me back in the mid 70's. The load used was 7 or 8 % above listed maximum. These were once fired casings prior to loading. As you can see one is cracked at the beginning of the web area and the other was blown in two. Thank God for watching over youth and fools. The Savage rifle I fired them in has a fully vented chamber and is a single shot with a solid bottom receiver so there was no sympathetic detonation. No harm came to me or the rifle. A lesson well learned!!
